REGRET: I regret that my Mom's video camera died both at my high school graduation and at my first solo airplane flight and that she had no CAMERA to take back up photos!

FLIP SIDE: On the other hand, I rarely leave home without my camera. I also plan at least a few extra days on each side of any trip away from AK (we fly so far to get down to the lower 48) so that I can adequately rest and take photos. On the other hand, I sometimes regret taking so many photos.

My battery died just as my little sister was walking across the stage, about to receive her high school diploma at her graduation ceremony. I regret that.

I absolutely know what you mean... people always say how great that is that I've gone to so many great places for work. My response is I could have been in the same city for all the trips for as much as I saw. It's always so busy that I rarely get to see anything. I guess what I regret not photographing is past friends. I have such a terrible long term memory and would love to look back at pictures of friends I've had over the years.

Hmm Emma, that hotel in The Shining (the "Overlook") is quite close to where I live... Timberline Lodge is a ski area up on Mount Hood, OR. Well, the exterior shots of the hotel are there, the interior was taken someplace else. But it's always odd, driving up to it and remembering that creepy movie. :)

Gosh there are a few... i too get to travel about sometimes with work. I don;t normally take my camera as typically all I ever see is the airport, taxi, hotel, taxi, office, taxi, airport... That said i have missed opportunities in Milan and Dublin recently.

We once had a big marketing conference in Bavaria right on an amazing lake, with a view to die for. I didn't take my camera, and regretted it the whole time. I missed out on some amazing landscape opportunities, and I am not even that big into landscapes... even the hotel would have made an interesting subject as was rather like stepping into a 1970's time warp... very grand, but very old fashioned! It reminded me a bit of the hotel in the shining... :-0

Most of all though I generally regret not taking more photographs of friends and family - this is different now as I take loads, but i wish I had taken more when I was younger. Just wasn't as into photography as much then I guess...

Portraits of my wedding. All we got were snapshots, because my dad's portrait camera ended up broken. Ah well. Such is life and marriage. :)
